ENERGY AUDIT IN DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM WITH INTEGRATED METERED TRANSFORMERS

The present changing scenario in power sector has pressed the utilities to tighten the financial activities and adopt energy audit at micro as well as macro level. The complexity of recording and distinguishing technical losses and commercial losses in distribution system has lead to adopt different methods to measure these losses. One of the requirements of for such bifurcation of losses is to measure the units received at transformer center. The arrangements of the installation of energy meters at distribution transformer centers are discussed herewith. Along with determination of losses, these also help to make certain decisions on reduction of losses/ increase in revenue. The proposed integrated metered transformer system provides technically and economically viable solutions of energy audit of distribution networks.
