In this paper integral transform and numerical analysis are used to analyze thedynamic response of slab on a viscoelastic foundation caused by a moving constant loadwith a constant speed. The steady-state solution is based on the use of Fourier transform. It is found that the maximum response of the slab on a viscoelastic foundation occursbehind the moving load and travels with the load at the same speed. This time delay is a function of damping coefficient, load speed, and material parameters of the slab. For most engineering materials there is no significant difference between the maximum response of slab on an elastic foundation and that on a viscoelastic foundation. The displacement field of the slab with respect to moving loads is also analyzed. The result of this paper can be used to monitor structural capacity of pavement systems using continuous measure equipment.
