AUTOMATIC INTERPRETATION OF WELD LINES

Computer simulation has had success in predicting filling behavior in extremely complicated geometries. However, sometimes we can't directly predict the location of weld line. This work presents a method to automatically interpret the starting, evolving and accomplishing of weld line in the processing of injection molding. Implementation of such an algorithm based on computer graphics knowledge and flow simulation of injection molding. The algorithm can also be applied to gas-assisted injection molding and reaction injection molding.
