The Production Practice of the Continuous Casting Machine in Bengang and the Study for Quality of Slab

The main body equipments of casting machine at Benxi Steel-Making are designed and manufactured by VOEST-ALPINE Industieanlagenbau GmbH & Co. (VAI). The first casting machine was put into production on November 15,1998 and the second one was on September 20, 2000. By far, the two casting machines run very well beyond the designed capacity. We have received remarkable achievements with the two casting machines owing to the short construction period, successful function test, fast running speed, good quality of slab and low break-out rate. It introduces in the article the technical specialty of the casting machines in Benxi as well as the production practice since their putting into production.
