Facility Management: Energy Saving Through Behavioural Changes

Energy is wasted each day due to lack of awareness among societies. How can energy awareness be raised? This paper will explore the role of behavioural approach in promoting energy conservation. Behavioural approach requires changes in human behaviour which include the administrators and end users. It is said to be more flexible and less expensive compared to the technology fixed. The purpose of this research is to construct a conceptual model of energy awareness development process to improve energy awareness. The outcome of this research will provide valuable and systematic guideline to facility managers in their effort to reduce cost of energy and promoting sustainable use of resources.
