The fundamental investigation on creating fireproof concretes and masses from secondary mineral resources (SMR) has been carried out by the SSUI with the Russian ministry of education order. As compared with annealed piece articles, the fireproof concretes and masses permit: (1) reduction of fuel by a factor of 1.5 to 2 through elimination of the annealing alteration and improvement of heat-insulating properties, (2) increase in the linings durability by 30%, (3) reduction in labour consumption during their erection and repair by 3 times, (4) considerable reduction of the fireproof materials specific consumption per a unit of the output and (5) minimization of the transport expenses.
