With the development of urbanization, the application of small UAV in urban combat environment will become an inevitable trend. It is necessary to study the communication channel model of small UAV in urban environment. In this paper, the necessity of the research on the orthogonal polarization NLOS MIMO channel model of small UAV is discussed, and the advantages and disadvantages of the existing UAV aeronautical channel model and wireless mobile communication channel model are summarized. Furthermore, it is necessary to study the orthogonal polarization NLOS MIMO channel model of small UAV to adapt to the urban environment.
