Conventional operating systems view a computer as one entity. Cooperation between computers nowadays is supported via a special networking application programming interfaces. Facing the problem of unequal load distribution among otherwise networked computers today, operating systems have to overcome the principle of 'the computer is one entity' which is deeply entrenched into their structure of processes and private virtual address spaces. With current operating system structures it is difficult to unite a network of computers as one. This proposal aims to restructure operating systems, so that they can exploit their dynamic evolving structures to efficiently distribute themselves among their computing nodes. The final goal of this new structuring approach will be to unite a network of computers as one entity, so that from a programmers' standpoint, no distinction has to be made whether the system is comprised of one cpu or a thousand.
