JPEG IMAGE RETRIEVAL BASED ON A/D ENERGY HISTOGRAM OF DCT COEFFICIENTS

摘要

A novel JPEG image retrieval method based on A/D energy histograms of DCT coefficients is presented in this paper. The method, which can be used to image retrieval from WWW or dynamic image database, directly computes the A/D energy histograms from DCT domain without decompressing the image so that it saves a lot of computation cost. At the same time, it is robust to the translation, rotation and scale transform with minor disturbance. Experimental results also demonstrate the method has a good performance both in retrieval efficiency and effectiveness.
