The paper describes laboratory tests carried out in order to develop anchorage devices and laps for CFRP strips which are epoxy-bonded to concrete for the purpose of strengthening against failure caused by bending moment and shear. The structural behaviour and the mechanism of failure of the anchorage devices and laps of CFRP strips are explained and compared with observations made during the laboratory tests in order to develop a mathematical model of the devices and the laps.
