Tn accelerating the cement hydration process, steam thermal curing can be responsible for increasing concrete's porosity, since a greater portion of cement particles may remain unhydrated. If the increase of porosity results in increase of permeability, aggressive fluids may easier access concrete's core. The aim of this work is to investigate the influence of steam thermal curing on concrete quality, by determining its air permeability and the compressive strength. Air permeability was measured by means of a non steady state air permeameter at the age of 28 days. Concretes were produced with Portland cements containing 0%, 27% and 53% of ground granulated blast furnace slag and the effect of the mineral substitution was also analyzed.
