摘要

In Optical Burst Switching (OBS), the performance of networks is directly affected by the process of burst assembly at edge nodes. In this paper, to provide high quality of service, a novel assembly mechanism called burst composite assembly (BCA) is proposed, which combines the best of the algorithm of fixed-assembly-period (FAP) and adaptive-assembly-size (AAS). We then conduct a performance evaluation on the algorithm BCA and obtain a suggested set of designing parameters to satisfy the target performance in terms of burst loss probability, average edge delay and system bandwidth utilization.
