This article firstly analyzes a Mobile IP based , mobility management architecture model and next discusses several disadvantages of Mobile IP when supporting multiple applications, and then illustrates new requirements coming from the future mobile communication network. Furthermore, it gives some pieces of advice on reconsideration in the current Mobile IP based mobility management architecture model. Finally, a novel hierarchical and adaptive model is put forward to on the basis of discussion mentioned above.
