Research on Operational Characteristics of High Temperature Air Generator

A high temperature air generator equipped with honeycomb ceramic regenerator has been built. In order to research conditions under which the generator can work steadily and its operational characteristics with propane as fuel the definitions including ratio of fuel to air, split ratio and additional air ratio are introduced. Experimental results without any additional air show that split ratio is less than 75%, and both its flow rate and thermal efficiency decrease gradually as the temperature of high-temperature air increases. The air of 800~1300 ℃ can be generated efficiently and stably by optimizing fuel/air ratio and split ratio. Theoretical results agree well with the experimental ones and the error of temperature of high temperature air is less than 6.2%.
