In this paper, the k-ε two-equation turbulence model, the QUICK scheme, the CIMPLE algorithm and the uneven-crisscross grid system are applied to the numerical simulation of the three-dimensional cold-state flow field in the W-shaped flame boiler furnace. The flow field graphs and the speed distribution graphs in the W-shaped flame boiler furnace are drawn. The main physical character of the flow in the W-shaped flame boiler furnace is revealed. The mechanism of the breeze burning-out, the breeze ignition and the breeze steady combustion in low-load is discussed when the low-volatiles anthracite is burning in the W-shaped flame boiler furnace. The calculation result is able to show the basic character of the flow in the W-shaped flame boiler furnace. The calculation example shows that the QUICK scheme and the CIMPLE algorithm are able to be applied to the numerical simulation of the re-circulating turbulent flow at the same time, which possesses higher precision and better convergence.
