EXPANDABLE MICROSPHERES AS FOAMING AGENT IN THERMOPLASTICS, THERMOSETS AND ELASTOMERS

Different types of expandable microspheres will be described and the possibility to use them either as foaming agent or as light weight filler. Focus will be put on different thermoplastic applications as well as the use of them in both thermosets and elastomers. Examples from trials showing the density reduction created by the microspheres and examples of different products where they are used will be presented.
