摘要

The Three Gorges Project on the Yangtse River in China is the largest water resources project in the world at present. To predict water quality impact of TGP, A depth-averaged nonlinear turbulence model is established. Compared with experimental data in confluence flows with direct banks, this model describes the distribution of scalar quantity much better than isotropic turbulence models. It is also applied to the simulation of Chongqing Reach in Three Gorges Reservoir, which is about 28km long with several important outlets along the banks. Numerical result show that this model can be used as one of the effective tools for simulation in natural confluence.
