On the basis of investigating comprehensively and analyzing synthetically the present situation of grain postproduction system in Zhejiang Province, P. R. China. Appraisal criteria for comparison analysis and comprehensively evaluating grain postproduction system have, been set up. A new multi-hierarchical and multi-objective comprehensive evaluation model was established to evaluate grain postproduction system using four indexes, i.e. cost, efficiency, grain quantity loss and grain quality loss. Comprehensive appraisal on the three typical grain postproduction patterns was undertaken. Sensitive analysis was undertaken for the results of assessment. On the basis of assessment, some improved patterns were put forward, and comparison analysis between three improved patterns and three present patterns showed that the improved patterns had lower cost, higher efficiency, less losses, better quality indexes and higher rate of benefit to cost.
