According to the requirement of property controlling, plate is produced with TMCP (Thermal mechanical control process) technology. This technology can improve the plate's property, but also reduce the plate mill's yield. In order to increase yield, multiple-plate rolling control method is used. When one plate is holding temperature, other plates can be rolled the first rolling phase, and then they can be placed to the holding zones. When one plate's temperature touches the start temperature for the second rolling phase, the plate can be moved back to the mill stand location to finish the second rolling phase. According to the equipment parameters and plate pass schedule, different multiple-plate rolling modes can be chosen. In one plate mill plant, these multiple-plate rolling modes including single-plate rolling mode, two-plate one-holding one-rolling mode and three-plate two-holding one-rolling mode can be used. According to the rolling mode, through controlling the discharge time, the mill pacing is controlled, and multiple-plate rolling can be realized. Then the plate mill utilization ratio can be improved and yield can be increased.
