Polyacrylonitrile fiber tow was oxidized and carbonized continuously on an apparatus. DSC and TG behaviours of the PAN fiber was analyzed firstly. Then the fiber tow was drawn through several oxidization and carbonization zones continuously, turning into carbon fiber. The influence of the oxidization and carbonization conditions on the structure and properties of the derived carbon fiber was inspected.
