Since 2002 MiniFAB in Australia has been developing and trialing a unique cluster model for the commercialization of small technologies. To date the cluster has been entirely privately funded and has achieved its growth without public sector support. Now that it has grown to include 15 companies collectively employing more than 70 people the cluster is entering a new phase of growth with a new set of tasks and priorities.
