摘要

This paper deals with the design of high rise buildings with respect to the feeling of comfort of the habitants under accelerations due to wind loads. Horizontal accelerations are limited for comfort depending on the frequency of the oscillation. These accelerations and frequencies are not only influenced by the stiffness of the building, but also by the stiffness of the foundations. This paper will give more insight into this aspect: after evaluating the most probable stiffness of the foundation of a building, a parametric study is perfonned to assess better the sensitivity of the building and the influence on the comfort in the building.
