Proposed Bridge in Shanghai Chongming Rivercrossing Project

摘要

Shanghai Chongming Rivercrossing Project runs across the South and North Channels at the Yangtze Estuary, connecting the land area of Shanghai, Changxing Island and Chongming Island, approximately 25.5km in total length, of which, the water area of the South Channel to be covered is 6.87km and Feasibility Study finished. In the F.S. Report, 4 overall proposals are raised along two proposed that of the North Channel is 8.45km. The project has been approved and its alignments, including large amounts of study and comparison thereof. Briefed here is the construction conditions and key technical indices, with emphasis on the size and technical features of the proposed bridges on the two alignments.
