The following work presents the structural optimization of Extradosed Bridges. Therefore a geometrical and Material nonlinear FE-Model wwill be devloped. This model will be adopted to introduce the structural optimization of extradosed bridges concerning the cable layout, i.e. the distribution of cables over the span, the restraining condition of the deck/tower joint and the form of the tower. Moreover, a simplified analysis model for the load distribution between bending action of the deck and the membrane-action of the stay cables will be introduced. Finally, some recommendations for the design extradosed bridges will be driven.
