A rocket-ramjet combined cycle engine was tested in ramjet-mode. The combustor model had two rockets in the combustor section. They were used as an igniter in this study. In the preliminary study, we obtained downstream combustion ramjet-mode in a divergent duct with the dual-mode scramjet combustor. In this study, the experimental results of the downstream combustion ramjet-mode operation with three lengths of downstream straight duct are presented. Better combustion condition was attained in the case of a longer downstream straight duct. And the advantages of the downstream combustion ramjet-mode were attained in the combined cycle engine. They were high pressure rise in the divergent duct and a large amount of fuel injection.
