In the cross pollination between Eruca saliva Mill, which was used both as female and male parent and B. campestris, B. napus, B. juncea in 1999―2000 to study crossing-compatibility. Although 15990 pistils were pollinated with foreign pollens but few hybrids seeds were obtained and the ratio of setting seeds per pistils is only about 4.5% in this study. It showed that the number of hybrid seeds is related to the crossing patterns and the ratio of setting seeds is higher when Eruca sativa Mill was used as male parent It was observed that the distant-crossing ovary nearly stopped growing at eight days after pollination. F_1 seeds sown in next season were mostly viable, but they are matroclinous hybrid in almost all cases. It was suggested that the misogamy could be the one of main barriers in the cross between rapeseeds (Brassica) and Eruca sativa Mill.
