Study of the Performance in a Centrifugal Blower with Different Blade Number and Outlet Blade Angle

Based on steady compressible Reynolds-averaged N-S equations,Standard k -ε turbulent model,the internal airflow field in a centrifugal blower is numerically simulated by software Fluent.Study of the performance with different blade number and outlet blade angle has been completed.The results show that the blade number is optimized for 20 or outlet blade angle optimized for 57°,the outlet static pressure and polytropic efficiency have been improved in whole operating range.In the design volume flow 400m3/min,the former outlet static pressure increases by 438.6Pa,and polytropic efficiency increases by 0.651%;The latter outlet static pressure increases by 1847Pa,and polytropic efficiency increases by 1.239%.It illustrated that these two important parameters' optimization is feasible.The research results have reference value for energy saving and optimization design of the same centrifugal blower.
