DELIVERY OF PROTEINACIOUS MATERIALS FROM SILICONE PROTECTED MICROPARTICLES AND WATER-IN-SILICONE OIL EMULSIONS

Water-in-silicone oil emulsions were shown to act as depots for proteins contained within the water phase. The protein, in addition to its biological role, is an important constituent of the interface. Using an enzyme for which chromogenic assays are well established, the stability of the protein in the emulsion was shown to be superior to the same protein in water.
