This paper proposes a compound controller composed of adaptive controller, fractional order controller, high order sliding mode controller and fuzzy controller for a three-phase active power filter. A high order sliding surface is designed with fractional module and a high order sliding mode controller may transfer the discontinuities in the controller and reduce the system chattering. A fuzzy system is used to approximate the unknown parameters in the control system. Performance of the controller is illustrated through simulation studu to prove that the designed controller can satisfactorily eliminate harmonic. By comparing with adaptive integer high order sliding fuzzy control, the proposed controller further manifests good robustness and stability.
