The work presents the results of a numerical study of the effect of different combinations of geometrical factors changes on reduction of the heat-exchanger-condenser freezing surface area, including using of variable ratio of thermal resistances. The methodology for upgrading the previously developed application package and the initial results of its testing is described. The paper presents a methodology for the heat transfer calculating in a compact heat exchanger-condenser with variable finning. The results obtained with the modified methodology on the modes with constant finning coincide with the previous studies data on previously developed software packages. As a result of the research, it was found that the change in finning parameters significantly changes the temperature distribution of the heat exchange surface. In particular the change of finning along one of the tracts leads to a positive effect. The change of finnings along both tracts makes it possible to increase the surface temperature and reduce the freezing surface area.
