Low phosphorus (P) availability is one of the major constraints to soybeaa production on acidic soils. Root exudates play important roles in mobilizing sparingly soluble phosphates, however P-induced variation of metabolic products in both root tissue and root exudates of soybean is still unknown. In this study, the proton, inorganic ions, soluble sugar, protein, organic acid, phenolic acid in both root tissue and root exudates of soybean seedlings were determined at different growth stages. Effects of signal molecules and ion channel modulators on the P-induced root exudation was examined. Based on the results, the mechanism of P-induced variation of root exudates was partially explained.
