The performance of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) is strongly dependent on sensitizer-dye adsorption behavior on the TiO2 nanocrystal electrode.We have studied adsorption of N719 sensitizer-dye on the TiO2 nanoparticles and the relationship between the adsorption behavior and the DSCs cell performance.The results suggest that the dye adsorption is dependent on crystal facet of TiO2 nanoparticles,which strongly affects the DSCs cell performance.In this study,we synthesize {010}-faceted anatase TiO2 nanoparticles from layered titanate nanosheets and characterize these nanoparticles characters using XRD,BET,FE-SEM,and TEM.Following we characterize the cell performance of DSCs fabricated using the {010}-faceted anatase nanoparticles and compare the cell performance of P25 nanoparticle.As a result,the {010}-faceted anatase shows higher Jsc value and energy conversion efficiency than P25 nanoparticles.
