Complex wells are getting more and more used in reservoir engineering to increase the oil recovery. However, accurage modelling of these kinds of wells is still a challenge due to the scaling problem related to the large gridblocks used in the simulation and the small wellbore diameter. In this paper, a control volume method is proposed, which is suitable for the well singularity flow modelling. Both the well performance and the flux calculation in the well vicinity can be accurately handled with this method. The use of this control volume approach for complex well modelling with distorted gridblocks is particularly addressed. Some examples are presented to illustrate the efficiency of the approach.
