Study on the Performance of a Floating Breakwater with Two Boxes

摘要

The authors propose a floating breakwater with two boxes fordeep-water areas where the period of waves is longer, as opposed toconventional single box, floating breakwaters. The purpose of thisstudy was to investigate the performance characteristics of a floatingbreakwater with two boxes, using two kinds of test and computations.The method of estimating the transmission coefficient of this floatingbreakwater was established by a numerical wave tank. The measuredresult of which showed that this method could estimate thetransmission coefficient of this floating breakwater accurately.
