In this study a new type seawall was proposed for reducing reflectedwaves and also was intended to have an additional function of waveenergy extractions through the use of pumping mode of wave motions.The new type sea wall has two water chambers separated by a L-shapedplate. Performance of the sea wall has been examined from both theexperimental and theoretical points of view. The ability of the sea dikeof this structure is suitable to reduce reflected waves not only for shortwaves, but also for long-fetched waves, such as swells. A rationaldesign method for an effective cross section of the seawall also hasbeen examined.
