Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) films, ofwhich the liquid crystal has negative dielectric anisotropy,were prepared from the phase separation betweenMJ001317 and a variety of compositions of resins bycommon polymerization induced phase separationmethod. In this work, the effects of resin compositionshave been systematically investigated and it was foundthat the morphology and size of droplet, which is closelyrelated to electro-optic properties, mainly depend on therate of polymerization and cross-linking density for eachresin composition. The reverse mode PDLC films fromthis newly developed formulation containingTPGDA/EHA/HMPPO showed the good off-statetransmittance, contrast ratio (19/1), and relatively lowdriving voltage(10V).
