In the modern LCD panel process, glass substrate is the most important assembling parts, no matter for TN, STN, Amorphous, LTPS, PDP, organic EL, even the color filter, all of these productions almost will be made by glass substrate. But with the special characteristics of the glass substrate, it will bring seriously problem of static, no matter in circuit damage or particle contamination, so it is necessary for every LCD panel engineer to understand more about static and the relationship in between glass substrate and static. In this document, we will discuses about the special characteristics of the glass substrate, the principle of static occurring, which process of LCD with most seriously static problem and how to prevent static during the process.
