摘要

The electrode systems for in field electrochemical detecting of immersed samples were made andapplied at a marine corrosion test station in East China, to monitor four carbon steel and low alloy steelsamples during the period of exposure. The results showed that the potential of the samples increasedgradually with the rust accumulating on the samples surface. The polarization resistance increased at first.Then it decreased gradually. This was because the rust was deposited on the samples surface and the seawatertemperature changing. The measuring results reflected the early corrosion performance of the samples duringexposure, which were consistent with the lost weight data exposed in seawater for one year. electrochemicalimpedance spectroscopy (EIS) proves to be qualified in measuring the metal samples exposed in seawater.
