The main purpose behind Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) deployments is environmental data collection. Actually, since sensors are usually immobile and their wireless environment is unstable, the operation of data forwarding to the base station remains a very arduous task. To tackle this issue, the proposed approach in this paper consists in injecting mobile relay nodes whose main mission is to (1) provide connectivity between any sensor and the base station, and (2) minimize data reception latency at the base station. Smart mobility is the key idea of our approach. In order to ensure reliability, we form a virtual mobile circle using relay nodes. In addition to the extensive simulations experiments, we have formally proven the effectiveness of our proposal.
