This paper describes a result of examination, in which we investigated effects of loss of measurements due to noise contamination and device malfunction on aircraft noise monitoring. First, it describes a result of checking effects of background noise on the estimation of L_(AE) of aircraft sound events by analysis of observations artificially contaminated with background noise. Narrowing the interval of energy summation is useful to keep precision in L_(AE) determination when noise floor stays high. Exclusion of event-like background sound and data interpolation can be effective in improvement of precision in L_(AE) determination. Secondly, it describes a result of checking effects of data loss due to device malfunction on the estimation of long-term average L_(den) using long-term noise observations. We have no need to apply adjustment to estimations of long-term average L_(den) when the incidence of data lack stays below 10%.
