This paper describes development of the active modular panel systems for insulating floor impact noise mainly for residence in condominiums. Most governing components of the noise are in very low frequency range, which leads to introducing the active control system as most efficient measure to insulate the noise. Imagine that the concrete slab structure is covered with modular panel systems in the ceiling, where structural vibration is actively controlled in very low level, which yields the good insulation of the floor impulse nose. For example, the actively controlled panels of 0.9[m] × 0.9[m], cover the whole surface of the ceiling, and insulate the floor impact noise by controlling each of the panels in low vibration level. The feed-back control system is constructed with five sensors of the vibration acceleration, five actuators of the moving coil type and the digital controller, which means MIMO control system basically. In order to decrease the computing load of the controller, the technique of decoupling the natural modes of vibration in the plate was applied, which yielded the successful control of the vibration with reduction of the acceleration signals by 10dB or more for the dominating lowest peaks.
