Like smartphone applications, Internet of Things (IoT) can also utilize location information for its potential services. When IoT devices are attached to a mobile network, IoT services are possible to obtain location information from base stations of the mobile network. Handover behavior, however, may change the sequence of location information and thus it will affect to the forms of service realization. As many people expect dense installation of base stations for 5G mobile network, actual characteristics of handover behavior are essential for future IoT service design. We simulated the behavior of handover by modelling mobile service in a downtown area. We report the results to clarify how moving speed and frequency of handover relates.
