Self-generated chaotic dynamics of field domains insuperlattices

摘要

The dynamics of charge accumulation and depletion fronts in semiconductorsuperlattices is investigated. We show that chaotic behavior may occur for appropriatelychosen contact current and fixed external voltage without external driving. The chaoticbehavior does not change qualitatively, if we replace ohmic contact currents by exponentialones, as long as the intersection point of the contact current characteristic with the well to wellcharacteristic is fixed.
