A Survey On Co-Operative Communication in 4G-Lte Wireless Networks

Recent advancements in wireless communication have led to a number of new techniques specially designed for Co-operative communication where cooperation between Relay Source, destination are considered. Future Generation wireless communications like 4G, 5G requires much higher data rates, good QOS and more standard transmission link with the increase of multimedia services. To achieve these parameters MIMO systems have been considered as an efficient technique by taking proper multiplexing strategy and diversity over single antenna for the same amount of bandwidth and power. When implementing the MIMO systems with unlimited advantages to the mobile handsets, it may face few limitations. To overcome these limitations, relays may be co-operate using Amplifying and Forwarding (A&F) and Decode and Forwarding (D&F) relay scheme to boost the entire system attainment in mobile networks. Cooperative communication struggles with fading and shadowing associated with relays (fixed or mobile terminals). The relays can increase the capacity and coverage area of cellular networks using proper Channel State Information (CSI). In this paper, different relaying schemes have been studied to identify the best relaying strategy for cooperative communication. The paper concluded with the problems of cooperative communication technique.
