This paper presents a localization scheme for sensor nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) that employs array antenna to detect Angle of Arrival (AOA) at the base station (BS) to detect the location transmitter on XY plane. The BS employs set of antenna arrays to detect the azimuthal ( θ) angle and the direction ( φ) of node. Nodes only have to transmit One beacon using their omnidirectional antenna. If the BS is in the communication range of node then its location can be determined. The nodes transmit sequentially based on preassigned node ID and node transmission contains their node ID. The scheme is capable of determining the location of the nodes in the region with the help of beacons transmitted from the nodes. Intercommunication among nodes is not required resulting in faster localization that consumes low energy at nodes.
