Efficient VQ Search Algorithm for Image Coding

摘要

An improved codebook search algorithm for image vector quantization is proposed. This algorithm is an extension of the bound for Minkowski metric to image vector quantization. This novel approach provides superior performance compared with the fast mean-distance-ordered partial codebook search algorithm.
