An automatic multi-parameter joint monitoring device is designed for buried pipelines on slopes in frozen soil regions considering the difficulties and shortcomings of traditional techniques for the monitoring of geological disasters on slopes in frozen soil regions, which features high measuring accuracy and stable reliability, and introduces the wireless network technology to set up a remote monitoring system, including the hardware and software design that covers single chip, ZigBee and satellite communications. The device measures such parameters as temperature field, soil water content, surface deformation, deep displacement and pipe strain in real time through monitoring sensors distributed at the terminal, gathers monitoring results to the coordinator nodes through wireless communication, and finally transmits them to the remote monitoring center through satellite communication module. It is proved through field tests that this monitoring system is featured by low cost, high reliability and easy-to-network, and can be used for the remote and automatic monitoring of safe operation of buried pipelines on slopes in frozen soil regions.
