Semantic Analysis of Bengali Sentences

Semantic analysis is concerning the structures and occurrences of the words in a sentence and understanding the idea of what's written in a particular sentence. This analysis plays a crucial role to represent the actual interpretation of the sentence structure and hence helps to improve the accuracy of machine translation. In this paper, we propose a semantic analyzer to perform the semantic analysis of Bengali sentences. We introduce a set of rules for composition functions to the constituent parts of a sentence with the semantic features of the word for this purpose. The system has experimented with more than 2000 Bengali sentences and the success rates in over 88%.
