With consideration of the temporal and spatial variation of soil water resources in hilly red soil, the geographic information technology, soil moisture simulation model and crop growth model had been integrated to develop soil water and crop growth simulation and decision system in Shidangjin and Dayangfan village in Mada town, Lanxi, Zhejiang Province. The whole process of soil water and crop growth simulation can be used to simulate varies of crop growth and soil water. The simulated results could be displayed by graphics and report tables, and conducive to decision making for farmland moisture scheduling, planning and irrigation optimization, and provides reference information for soil water resources management in hilly red soil.
