The suppressing harmonic currents, MS(Magnetic-Switch) power supply

摘要

A new power supply suppressing harmonic currents is proposed. The circuit is made up by inserting a choke coil and a winding of transformer between the bridge rectifier and the input capacitor of the ordinary capacitor input type power supply. The characteristic of the circuit is to use the winding of the transformer like a switch (we call it Magnetic-Switch), and has a function to improve the power factor and to suppress the harmonic currents. As this MS power supply has only one switch (MOS-FET) and one control circuit, the whole circuit is simple, inexpensive, and meets with IEC 1000-3-2 Class D, concerning with the harmonic currents of the switching power supply.
